Summer has finally arrived at Hopping Hare Candles

Like our Spring Collection, the candles are presented in white glass containers with ribbon and wax seal presentation details.

Introducing Tropical Oud, a fruity summer treat, nothing smells more like summer holidays than this candle. Florals meet exotic summer fruit with a powerful punch of mango and other magical summer aromas to create this surprising yet wonderfully rounded blend.

This is smooth blend, not overly sweet, just wonderfully reminiscent of sunshine, relaxation and journeys of discovery, where fruit and floral oils are mixed with coconut to compliment decadent oud

A true feast for the senses.

Also for our Summer 2018 collection is Twilight, it took a while to get the right floral balance for this candle, not too sweet, not too pungent, it’s mellow and soothing with a middle notes mix of jasmine, gardenia and neroli amongst others with base notes of rosewood and amber

Imagine walking through a midsummer garden as the sun is setting and inhale the aromas of the flowers as they release their last perfume of the day before night falls..

A wonderful aroma that brings the opulent scent of gorgeously scented garden flowers into your home.

The perfect gentle English summer blend.

The collection is available as 9cl and 30cl candles as standard and as 50cl 3 wick white glass, 100cl 4 wick clear glass and 200cl clear glass 4 wick to order.

Tealight samples are now available to test the new fragrances too, just £1 with free P&P plus if you like it, get your £1 off a full sized version, Removes the worry about buying candles online – a little taster (but obviously not literally!)

and summer keeps rolling on…..

The 2018 Spring Collection has arrived

Even though snow is on the ground, our Spring candles have now been made, so we have decided to take a positive stance regarding the weather and have declared that Spring is just around the corner!

Our 2018 Spring collection comprises three candles, all presented in fresh white glass containers. These candles are only available in our 30cl standard size. After much debate we decided that some of the best aromas for Spring are herbs, it’s the time of year when (usually) the weather is getter warmer, we start to notice smells emerging from the garden and herbs are a such wonderful pick-me-up.

It was hard to choose our favourite herbs and for a long time we were heavily focussed on sage, but we eventually decided upon a fresh aroma (Spring Mint), a twist on a traditional herb based candle (Neroil & Basil) and then we opted for something a bit different (Fresh Tomato Leaf).

Our Spring Collection is:

  • Spring Mint
  • Neroli & Basil
  • Fresh Tomato Leaf

Spring Mint   https://www.hoppingharecandles.co.uk/essential-oil-candles/spring-mint-essential-oil-candle/

This candle has a very fresh aroma, creating this unique blend involved peppermint and spearmint essential oils, with eucalyptus essential oil, and coconut oil.

The intense mint is tempered by the eucalyptus oil, resulting in a more subtle and rounded overall minty aroma, which is still delightfully fresh but not overpowering.

The added coconut oil gives it depth and staying power.

This candle is made with our 100% natural rapeseed wax, with cotton and linen wicks

Neroli & Basil    https://www.hoppingharecandles.co.uk/essential-oil-candles/neroli-basil-essential-oil-candle/

The combination of orange aroma, usually mandarin, with basil is more often found with added lime, however we decided to bypass the lime and mandarin and focussed on the more subtle orange notes of Neroli essential oil mixed with Basil essential oil.  We find that basil can be an odd essential oil to work sometimes as it can be so overpowering, but when you get the blend just right, something magical happens and it transforms into something completely different, and particularly, the combination of Neroli with Basil is stunning. It’s a luxurious mix of floral and herb and it is perfect for anywhere in the house.

This candle is made with our 100% natural rapeseed wax, with cotton and linen wicks.

Fresh Tomato Leaf  https://www.hoppingharecandles.co.uk/essential-oil-candles/fresh-tomato-leaf-candle/

This is our more unusual blend for Spring 2018.

The tomato leaf has a unique herby fragrance that just works perfectly in a candle. It is both warm and fresh but also has a slightly woody depth too. It is very different, quite surprising and very addictive!

Perfect for burning in the kitchen and dining room.

All of our pure essential oils are therapeutic grade with no nasty additives.

We hope you get the chance to test these new Spring blends at our forthcoming shows, however if you can’t make it along to see us in person, all fragrances are available as tealight testers – tealights are £1 with free p&p (and the £1 is refundable against the full size purchase).

Tealight candle samples – dip your toe before you dive in

Hands up if you ever bought a candle that didn’t live up to expectation and experienced that disappointment of wasting your money. Not good.

If you ask most people who buy candles regularly, we have all been there. Discovered a fascinating candle blend online, but then, stung by previous bad purchases, you then wonder, “what will it actually smell like, I really like the idea but what if it isn’t quite as I am expecting?”. It can be a purchase that feels too risky. So we then leave the page/the site and often just buy what we know, the ‘safe’ option or, what we can buy from a shop where we can go and experience it ourselves.

But if you always do that, you will miss out on all the wonderful unique blends created by artisan candle makers all over the UK, people who are creating wonderful new and exciting candle recipes, who you will not find on any high street.

So, how do you solve this issue, how to encourage experimentation without the disappointment or limiting the financial outlay?

We decided that it might be an interesting experiment to somehow offer a small taster before you commit. Could this be a great idea and encourage people to try something unknown and different by removing a lot of the risk?

We recently launched our new fragrance oil blend – Rose & Oud, and decided to test our idea. We offered a tealight sample in the new fragrance that enabled people to try it first, a bit like a paint tester pot. For a fraction of the price of the full sized candle you can get an idea of the fragrance without the risk, for just a pound inc p&p.

It has proved to be really popular for our Rose & Oud fragrance, so now, we are being asked about offering the same service for our other blends. So why not? If we can offer these tealight samples for all of our blends, it will help people properly experience the aromas for themselves and take away the risk of trying something new. And unlike paint tester pots, we decided to refund the tealight cost, if you decide to buy the full sized candle which we felt was a fair deal.

Obviously a tealight can never replicate the strength and depth of a bigger candle, but we have found that they provide a really useful way to choose one blend over another, or to decide on a birthday gift, and after all, you still get a beautifully fragranced tealight to burn so win : win all the way.

Our innovative little tealights are now available for all Hopping Hare blends in our web shop   https://www.hoppingharecandles.co.uk/shop  so you can dip your toe as much as you like before you dive on in*

Happy splashing!

*if you want to order more than one tealight, please make sure that you tick the ‘local collection’ option at the checkout or extra postage will get added. Don’t worry we will still post it to you!
